Junior doctors who are members of the British Medical Association (BMA) are expected to take part in a 72-hour strike on Monday 13, Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 March.
Although our hospitals are working hard to ensure as many appointments as possible go ahead, there will be some which will need to be rearranged.
The key message for local people is that everyone should attend their appointments unless the NHS contacts them directly and the NHS will still be here for people who need it.
Anyone experiencing potentially life-threatening symptoms should call 999 as they would on any other day. Anyone experiencing other urgent, but not life threatening, symptoms should use NHS111 online, call NHS 111, contact their own GP or visit a pharmacy.
