Hear Us Fundraiser Vacancy

Hear Us is currently looking for a passionate and creative fundraiser to help fund our charity that helps to improve the lives of people living with mental ill health in Croydon

Purpose of Post: Ensuring that all available opportunities for raising funds for Hear Us are successfully exploited, managed, and maintained, contributing to the charity’s financial viability and overall sustainability.

Implement a fundraising plan for the charity that will achieve the goals for sustainable funding, the development of projects, and the delivery of core operations.

Volunteer Cordinator

We are hoping that the postholder will be employed by December 2025

Purpose of Post: The Post holder will lead the delivery of our volunteer programme. You will be responsible for recruiting new volunteers and supporting existing volunteers and volunteer contacts to ensure a positive volunteer experience. 

This role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of our volunteer programmes, enabling us to support more people in our community when they are looking for that support or interaction.

Achieving Investing in Volunteers accreditation is seen as a vital step in us reviewing our current volunteer offering, sharing learning and good practice across our staff and volunteers, and developing the future creative direction of our volunteering offer.

Events Coordinator

We are hoping that the postholder will be employed by January 2026

Purpose of Post: to develop and manage Hear Us events, particularly the established Open Forum, and make sure they run smoothly.

The role of the Events Coordinator is to help ensure that our events attract people with a severe and enduring mental illness and provide them with a safe space to come together with commissioners and service providers and the general public of Croydon, and that they feel and want to be involved in the discussion about service development and delivery. In addition, they feel their contribution is helping to shape the services that they use.

Trustee Vacancy

Hear Us are a 100% mental health service user-run group, and this gives us a greater understanding of the impact of social exclusion on health. We share pathways into social inclusion and empower people towards positive wellbeing, helping our service users to build better self-esteem, self-belief and confidence.

As a Trustee you would play a vital role in the work of our dynamic charity providing strong, strategic support, and using your unique skills and experiences to help us achieve our goals.

Trustees have six main duties:
1).  To ensure that their Hear Us is carrying out its purposes for the public benefit
2).  To comply with their charity’s governing document and the law
3).  To act in their charity’s best interests
4).  To manage their charity’s resources responsibly
5).  To act with reasonable care and skill
6).  To ensure their charity is accountable
