Job Vacancy for Volunteer Co-ordinator at Peer Network Service for Imagine in Merton:

IMAGINE is a mental health charity, well known for providing a socially inclusive service called ‘Mainstream’, which has achieved national recognition.

Do you have an interest in people with mental health problems making the most of the mainstream community? Imagines’ London services provide a wide range of supportive and socially inclusive services including linking people into mainstream vocational and community opportunities, peer and community based groups, befriending and recovery focused services.

Volunteering Co-ordinator Ref: 16/24

Based in London Borough of Merton – 18.75 hours per week, flexible

Salary: £11,438.90 including London weighting

To help organise and support our peer mentoring and coaching service. This will involve dealing with initial referrals, conducting initial assessments, on-going client contacts and queries. You will be reporting to the Merton Team Leader. You will be responsible for organising and line managing peer mentoring and peer coaching assistant staff. You will also have the day to day responsibility for coordinating the service and assist in its development.

This role entails supporting people with mental health issues in their recovery and independence. It will include being responsible for the recruitment, training and matching volunteers to carry out the role of mentoring people through 1:1 support or coaching people through peer education courses. The role will require a very motivated, enthusiastic and highly organised person, with a commitment to social inclusion and recovery for clients
