Aim of service:
The four drop-in services will provide a safe place to go - a base from which users can: develop and increase their confidence and skills, without specific expectations or pressure maintain the community spirit and environment that many see as an important part of their life decrease their social isolation, meeting with people they know and trust, to establish social ties reduce their dependence on secondary mental health services
What will be offered:
Each new group will be staffed by at least one support worker during opening hours. Over time, services will be encouraged to develop greater levels of user involvement with professional support as needed. Women–only sessions will be provided. Inclusion workers and volunteers will:provide certain types of advice and a range of activities to develop skills;signpost to appropriate services;organise occasional visiting advice sessions from external experts (eg. welfare benefits);support group activities in the community.
