Croydon User Council - Ground Rules
- Respect to be given to the Chair
- One person to speak at a time
- If you want to talk or put your view
across put your hand up first.
- Everyone has the right to speak and
everyone has the right to remain silent.
- Questions should be put through the
Chair.
- Nobody can dominate the meeting.
- Consideration to be given to the minute
taker; they should not be required to
do anything else.
- People should arrive punctually.
- Respect should be given to other people's
views and feelings.
- Confidentiality regarding personal
or restricted information should be
observed.
- Respect should be given to people's
right to dignity and privacy.
- Mutual support should be offered within
the meetings.
- The meeting agenda should be adhered
to.
- Meetings should be held in a safe,
non-judgmental atmosphere/ environment.
- People can leave the meeting at any
time should they wish to, without needing
to explain their reasons.
- Regular breaks should be scheduled
into the Agenda.
- People are not obliged to discuss
their personal information or experiences.
- The meeting should follow to the agenda,
other items should be left for any other
business.
- Hear Us Coordinator and the CUC Chair
will discuss the meetings before and
after with the view to improving them.
